Memorial Day Weekend :)

So...after a week of hard work and MORE sand...We got the pool up and going!  This will provide hours of fun in the sun for our family and we LOVE the sun!

Here is J all ready to jump in for the first time:)

The water was a bit chilly!

Then on Sunday morning we decided to go to Coleman for a couple of days to visit Dad and Donna.  We all enjoy driving out to the country and we had a good ole time!

Donna and Josh playing in the water:)

Keegan slept through most of the water excitement.

But at Mikey and Donna's he gets to drink Squirt and pour it into the pool too!

Sunday evening we went out to the land and Joshua got to do LOTS of driving!  I did this so much when I was a little girl - great memories on Daddy's lap!

A beautiful Texas Sunset!

***Class of 2023***

Today was Joshua's Kindergarten Completion Ceremony.  He did awesome and I loved watching him!  Even though this is still how I sometimes see him...

And this one was from his first concert ever...

It seems he is growing so fast and sometimes I just need a pause button.
He will always be my first little pancake:)

First Grade...here I come!

Escape!

So checking on Keegan at naptime yesterday...this is what I found...an empty bed!  My first thought..."crap, he's escaped!"  Which I've worried about before, he could totally unlock the window and push out the screen - usually I do set the alarm at naptime:)  This is how wonderfully CraZy my little one is!

"Where are you?"

It's hard to ever be mad at this sweet face:)

My Kinder Boy

So the end of Kindergarten is near and that brings mixed emotions for me.  I am a bit of a cryer and this is the song I am preparing myself to hear on Friday morning at J's ceremony.  I just hear them practicing now and it brings tears to my eyes.  Starting tomorrow and thru next Fri -
waterproof makeup for me!

(to the tune of New York, New York)
Start spreading the news
We're leaving today.
We want to be a part of
First grade, first grade

We've worked very hard
Our teacher's so proud.
So open up those doors to
First grade, first grade.

We know our... alphabet
And numbers too.
We all can write our names
And tie our shoes!

So when summer's done
And we're all done with play
Our mom's will send us to
First grade, first grade.

If we can make it there
We'll make it anywhere
So here we come
First grade, first grade.

Sunny Saturday:)

We had a HOT Saturday at home today.  We dug out the slip n slide and had lots of backyard fun.  I SO remember doing this as a kid - I DID NOT do it today:)  J and K loved it though.

Josh showing Keegan how it's done.

I think this is just Precious of Keegan!!!

And...where there are boys and water...they WILL find MUD.  So let me explain the huge pond in our backyard.  We have an above ground pool that has killed the grass and has left an "off season" sandbox.  However, our yard is NOT level---who would've thought!---so, water collects on the low side = Szymanski Pond! (complete with a picnic table diving board!)

M.U.D.D.Y.

And if you don't laugh out loud on the next one, then you have NO sense of humor!

We love Saturdays!

We do LOUD really well!

So, my boys are SOOOOO LOUD!  We had a not very good day a few days ago where I just could not control them...and I "need" to be in control:)  I always say how crazy they are and that they are just pure "boy" - but geez!  If we lived in an apartment, I know for sure we would have been kicked out by now.  We also are not close with our immediate neighbors---yay!  I don't think I want to know what they think of us.  So...on this particular day...things just seemed awful.

Then...they went to sleep, I got everything cleaned up and looking "Ashlee like" and I watched Oprah while I was on the treadmill.  And boy was it a show that I needed.  I was bawling while I was trying to exercise---hard to do when you can't breathe!  It was about memorable guests of hers and one was this woman named Erin from years ago who had passed away after the show.  She had made all these tapes for her daughter and Oprah was going on about her endless love for her child and family.  This woman saw light in every moment and was such an inspiration to me.

So...I started missing my boys...you know the way you do when they finally DO go to stay somewhere else...you just miss them.  I snuck in to kiss them and take pictures of them in their peaceful sleep.  And aren't they precious?!?!  Just good reminders that "days come and go, but my feelings for you are forever!"
I LOVE you both So So Much!

Love, Mom

(see next/previous post...you will see what I mean by CrAzY!)
